The beginning of the new school year is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited for the students to arrive back on campus! This year is shaping up to be a banner year for arts eductaion across Sarasota county and the entire country. In our own district, there are some exciting initiatives about arts integration (check out the "Any Given Child" program's "Project Elevate" grant) and even the the Tony Awards are getting in on the act with their first ever "Excellence in Theatre Education Award".
Projects and opportunities abound for our students this year... See you on Monday! The Jr. Thespians District Festival is finally here! Final details were sent home last week (including permission slips, carpool information, directions to Blake High School, etc.). Please make sure the signed permission slips and any distributed medical forms are returned asap. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about Saturday... I am really looking forward to it!
Check out the flyer below for a community performance opportunity!
